My husband, daughter and I visited my birth town when our youngest was at daycare. Oh, how I would to make a trip on one of those boats! We also went thrift shopping at the biggest thrift store I've ever been to, but I scored nothing this time. Not even a piece of tableware...that was a first!
The rain made me feel like this at times: utterly sad and dreamy. It just didn't seem to stop raining. And it wasn't even that cold! I can't remember the last time we had such awful weather during summer break. I'd just love to sit in a park with a nice book to read, sweets to eat and the sun on my face, looking at all the people passing by, making up my own stories of their lives. Give me sun!!!
So with all this rain I had a great excuse to eat chocolate for comfort. Chocolate always makes me feel better. It's a girl's best friend! Well, it's my best friend at times and in any form really: icecream, chocolate milk or just a bar, I couldn't care less!
Our cute five month old cat Ollie picked up the habit of falling asleep in my lap as I eat breakfast every morning. Pure bliss! Nothing better than a soft and warm bundle of sweetness in your lap while you're still trying to wake up. I love her tiny beard in this shot and she smells ever so nice.
In between rain showers the kids played at playgrounds. They too are fed up with spending too much time indoors. It was a good thing they could get rid of their energy, because mama was kinda loosing it with those two rascals on the loose!
The past two days were spent restyling the blog. I thought it was time for a makeover, but I always underestimate the time and effort that goes into it. It took me about five to six hours to get everyting the way I wanted it to, because I'm not great with changing html codes and stuff, but I'm pleased with the way all my work turned out. It made me smile like this 10cm doll! Yesterday evening I worked until 2.30am and couldn't sleep because of working so late, so I lay awake 'till about sunrise...
So forgive me for cheating a bit on self portrait no. 33, because I looked like sh&*^% today!

I love your new look! I, like you need the sunshine...I too hope that autumn brings us a beautiful 'Indian Summer' as we call it...before the dreaded dark, grey and cold sets in. xx
